Q1) Are these questions really asked frequently?

A1) No! But these question have come up at least once and by putting the answers here, hopefully it's useful to others too. If you have a question send it to The Webmaster and your question will get posted here along with our response.

Q2) How do I get to join the gallery?

A2) Glad you asked that! Go to this link, print out and/or follow these instructions.

Q3) I joined the gallery. What do I do to get pictures of my art on the website?

A3) OK, did we tell you about the page of instructions? You have a choice of;

• Send the webmaster your photographs, slides or negatives and we'll scan them for your, or
• Send your digital images to the webmaster and he'll put your site together.

Q4) I sent the images to the webmaster but my site is not up yet. What's going on?

A4) OK, that's possible - and there may be several reasons. Here's a checklist;

• Did you also send your bio, contact information, and e-mail address?
• Did you send your cheque to the Website Co-ordinator?
• Did the Co-ordinator notify the webmaster?
• Did the Webmaster get TOIT?

If any of those did not happen - then that explains the delay! (And if it's the last one on that list send him an e-mail and tell him to get a move on!)

Q5) You scanned my images for me - how do I get a copy of those images?

A5) Oh Good! I like easy questions! - You get them from the website. If you're using Internet Explorer to view the website just right-click on the image you want a copy of and select "Save Picture as .." from the menu that pops up. Depending on the version of your browser, that menu might use a different description (such as "Save As", or "Save Image as"). Next comes a window that asks you to decide where to save the file (the directory) and what to call it (filename). Remember what you chose because that's where you'll find your image when you're done! Other Browsers can be used in almost exactly the same way.

Q6) I heard that we can add/delete/change the images ourselves - how does that work.

A6) Send an e-mail to the webmaster and ask for information on adding/deleting/changing your images. You will get back a reply with instructions and a login name and password. Keep that password secret - you wouldn't want someone else adding a picture to your site!

Q7) How much does it cost to display my images on the Website.

A7) There's price information and more on the Information Page.

Q8) I'm having trouble with the "Do it Yourself Feature". Can you help me with that?

A8) Sure! Have a look at the Do it Yourself FAQ.

Q9) I want to put the web address of my personal gallery on my business card but I don't know what it is?

A9) Your Bio page is http://www.nepeanfinearts.com/artists/{your_last_name}/ where {your_last_name} is (normally) your last name. You can see that address when you click on your listing on the Gallery. When you are at your bio page - look at the "Address" window in your browser.

Q10) Is there any way that my gallery address could be shorter, or more personalized? That address is rather long to put on a business card!

A10) Yes, go to this site for one way to do that but be aware that there may be annual costs involved. If you are interested, contact the Webmaster for more information.

Q11) Can you put my e-mail address on my bio page?

A11) Yes, absolutely! Some people do not want their e-mail address published because it can result in more junk e-mail. If you want to include (or remove) your e-mail address from your personal gallery, make a note of that on your application form, or contact the Webmaster.

Q12) On the Newsletter page, when I load a "Back Issue", it loads OK but when I want to go back to the Newsletter page and click on the "Back" button, I just get the newsletter again - it never goes back? What's wrong?

A11) Are you using Microsoft Internet Explorer(MSIE)? This is a known problem with MSIE and when they fix it, that won't happen anymore. You can try an upgrade to a new version of MSIE, or use another browser such as Netscape, or use a "workaround". The workaround is easy - just click on the "history" button (that arrow right beside the "back" button) and then select the link that says "Newsletter". That should bring you back where you want to go.

Q13) I don't see anything on this page that answers my question. What now?

A13) Congratulations! You have found a question that's not asked "frequently". Here's your opportunity to get a personalized reply and also get your question added to this FAQ. Just send an e-mail to the webmaster. If he can't answer your question, he'll send it to someone who can. If we think it's a good question (of course it is!), the question and the answer will get added to this FAQ. Cool eh?
