Graham Buck was born January 25, 1949 in Ottawa. He lived in the west end of Ottawa until he was 19 years old, spending most of his summers at his family cottage in Constance Bay on the Ottawa River. At the age of nineteen he left Ottawa to study Philosophy and History at the University of Toronto for three years. Graham then spent two years in Europe traveling and working, at the end of which, he settled in Grenville County south of Ottawa. Graham designed and built four homes over the next few years. He completed his last home in 1984 near Pelton’s Corners on a ten acre hobby farm, fondly called Froggy Bottom Farm. Graham makes his home there with his wife Susan and son Liam. Graham also has two older sons, Sean and Jesse, who are now involved in their own careers. Graham has been a self-employed siding contractor for the past twenty eight years in and around the North Grenville environs. Painting in oils, music and gardening have been life long pursuits for Graham. His painting of landscapes, people and seascapes focus on those moments of light that lift us from our every day existence. Graham deeply admires the work and efforts of the Stephen Lewis Foundation for HIV / AIDS relief in Africa. All profits from sales of his paintings are donated to that organization.
